Through the exclusive collections of František Jungvirt and Tomáš Žemla, the exhibition tempts visitors away from the beaten track and into the hidden worlds of rural landscapes. These include forests in the form of copses, flowering meadows teeming with tiny creatures, and fields with textures that vary depending on the crops and the season. The rich diversity of these places cannot be captured by a fleeting visit or a walk-by, so they are microcosms with their own rhythm, or rather tranquility, which few people talk about. Both exhibitors do so with extraordinary responsibility. They have been drawing inspiration from their immersion in the thickets for many years, and through this experience they are constantly developing their already precise artistic craft. In fact, this is what prompted their collaboration three years ago. With the exhibition Off the Beaten Track, they are now venturing off the beaten track together and presenting an overall report on an environment that is not only naturally close to humans, but also tells as much about the character of the domestic landscape as famous rivers, hills, or rocks.
