Joie de Vivre is a French expression that literally translates as “the joy of living.” It describes a contagious enthusiasm for life, optimism, and the ability to fully appreciate the present moment and the simple pleasures of everyday life. The exhibition Joie de Vivre presents recent works by Tomáš Jetela, Tomáš Němec, and Václav Misař – three painters who were there at the very beginning of The Chemistry Gallery. Together with these artists, the gallery shaped its identity in 2008 and 2009, searching for its own voice while discovering artists whose work has stood the test of time. Now, more than fifteen years later, they reunite in a shared exhibition, each returning with a distinctive and mature artistic language, as well as a unique personal journey that has shaped their practice. Throughout those journeys, all three artists have remained united by one constant: the joy of painting itself.
