Matěj Janák

Matěj Janák is an artist from Prague, whose work was initially formed mainly outside the gallery environment. Janák's work is influenced by the visual inputs of graffiti and is primarily based on the examination of subjective life experiences, which he transfers in various contexts to various media. Janák does not limit himself purely to painting, but deals with concept, objects and audiovisual creations, which in terms of content are based on symbols connected with everyday life experiences and internal processes of states of mind and subsequent dealing with them. Painting is defined by expressive and experimental expression, while the color or technique is always dependent on the current state of mind. Janák's works use recognizable shapes and color transitions that create a new dialogue from disparate strands of cultural thought.
