The exhibition of eight young illustrators focuses on the female perspective and lived experience. The title Mamma mia? refers to uncertainty with its question mark, aiming to relativize common stereotypes, expectations that society places on women and established orders. Through the eyes of both cis and trans female illustrators, the exhibition examines ideas about femininity in the 21st century – but instead of giving clear answers, it brings a variety of perspectives and further questions. You can encounter diverse approaches here – from classic book illustrations and comics sequences to artzines and canvases to textiles and objects. They show that contemporary Czech illustration transcends the boundaries of the printed page and enters physical space naturally.
