Jan Heres (* 1992) was born in the Swiss city of St. Gallen, lives and works in Prague. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, painting studio III / school doc. Michael Rittstein. His work was influenced by a one-year internship in the painting studio at the Indonesian Art Institute in Yogyakarta. From this experience, one can perceive the depth of color developed and used, atypical for the Central European author and the viewer. Heres's work is full of unprecedented interconnections of interpersonal and social relationships, a distinctive color, which is one of the typical features of his expressive style. His paintings present the unencumbered freedom of the human mind in the choice of themes and their depiction through compositional solutions. Wildness and unrestrainedness is one of the fundamental characteristics of his paintings, which is developed by the unpredictable relationships between the individual elements in the paintings. In his paintings, Heres creates fresh, playful, often bizarre and even absurd worlds, the form of which seems to belittle the seriousness that is indisputably present in the paintings.
