Slovak painter Ján Vasilko (*1979) is a significant young Slovak author whose painting style can be described as technicist abstraction. Work of graduate from Art Faculty in Kosice who spent 1 semester at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (studio of Vladimir Skrepl) and 1 semester at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava (studio of Daniel Fisher) is coming out from the fascination with machines. They are literally coming alive on his paintings. You can see influences of constructivism and suprematism in his work. One art critic described his painting style as dadaism and surrealism mixed together in a frozen computer.
