Jan Poš (b. 1996 in Prague) completed his bachelor's studies in the years 2018-2021 under the supervision of Daniel Hanzlík and Pavel Mrkus in the Time Based Media studio at FUD UJEP. In 2019, he stayed on a study internship at the Kunstuniversität in Linz with prof. Christoph Nebel.
He is currently studying a follow-up master's degree with Tomáš Hlavina in the Sculpture II. studio at the Prague's Academy of Fine Art.
Jan Poš conceives artwork as an explication of a specific situation. Each situation consists in a relational field, whose dynamics in turn modifies the existing situations. However, if we define this relational field from the onset as a model situation, i.e. a consciously constructed state – first conceived in a virtual data lab and subsequently validated through a model created in real space –, we touch on situations that are built on the prearranged rela - tional reduction. This reduction of laboratory nature ensures clarity of the constructed relations, which create controlled particular phenomena. What purpose do these ‘phenomena’ serve?
