BAČÁK + DESIGN

The exhibition BAČÁK + DESIGN in the Portheimka Gallery will present the long-awaited solo exhibition of the draftsman Michal Bačák on the ground floor of the baroque castle. On the first floor, they will present a curated selection of contemporary Czech and Slovak design. The curator of the exhibition is Petr Hájek from The Chemistry Gallery. The architecture of the design exhibition is in charge of the studio Matěj Janský & Cyril Dunděra.
**Michal Bačák is ranked among the most outstanding personalities of the contemporary illustration scene. In his professional and freelance work, he focuses on hand-drawn illustration. His handwriting is characterized by precise work with line and detail. He mixes folklore, nature and science-fantasy motifs with ease. At this exhibition, he will exhibit his original drawings for the first time, which have served as the subject of many realizations, whether printed or in applied design such as porcelain or furniture.
Michal Bačák's exhibition is accompanied by a group exhibition that presents talented creators of the young design generation and focuses primarily on objects and furniture. At the exhibition you will see works by the following Czech and Slovak authors: Vlastimil Šenkýř, Štefan Sekáč, Anna Jožová, Emil Taschka, Filip Houdek, Dominika Petrtýlova, Monika Martykánová, JanskyDundera, Lucie J. Skřivánková, Tomáš Rachunek and Jiří Krejčiřík.**
