Renata Cziroková (*1992) works with drawing, painting and textile figurative sculpture. She often experiments with different techniques, where each theme inspires the choice of a specific material or method of processing. Her recent works are characterized by a focus on the inner processes of consciousness and memory of the soul. They are expressed on canvas both figuratively and symbolically, through attributes referring to ritual experience, acceptance, and feeling.
Animals are an important part of her paintings, precisely in the sense of interspecies communication, where they symbolize her deep conviction of equality and interconnectedness. Through her work, she subtly, yet eloquently, critiques the generations-transmitted dogmas and beliefs of an anthropocentric world and the unsustainable exploitation of natural resources and creatures.
In 2007-2011 she studied at the Secondary Art School in Uherské Hradiště, and later in 2012-2018 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, where she was in the studio of Jiří Petrbok and Jiří Sopko. In 2016 she was in the studio of free art at Bezalel University in Jerusalem, Israel. Last year we presented her work in the exhibition New Matter at Portheimka Gallery.
