Dear art lovers, please accept an invitation to a guided tour of our current exhibition: MATYÁŠ CHOCHOLA: THE ALCHEMIST, which will take place today, January 19, from 7 pm at The Chemistry Gallery.
Matyáš Chochola, winner of the Jindřich Chalupecký Prize from 2016, revives his Alchemist after two years. The exhibition he prepared in 2020 for the London gallery Gossamer Fog at the beginning of the dark covid winter. This year, too, we find ourselves on the threshold of a gloomy period, only for other terrifying reasons that we would not have expected in 21st century. Thus, the artistic project about the powerful shaman-alchemist remains magically current. With it, the author confirms his image as a skilled provocateur and mystifier, whose works carry ambivalent meanings. During the guided tour, the author of the exhibition will explain how the London and Prague editions of the Alchymista exhibition were created and give you a glimpse under the hood of his unmistakable creative process.
The guided tour will be followed by a DJ set by: DJ Ladida The exhibition lasts until Saturday, Jan 28.
