Exhibition: Pavel Dušek - Ultramarine Depot

The Prague House in Brussels will present a solo exhibition by Pavel Dušek entitled Ultramarine Depot, which will present a set of polychrome steel reliefs that were created as a result of the artist's long-term work on the border between painting and sculpture. His approach is a material exploration of pictorial forms through sculptural, spatial methods - here, relief becomes the medium in which traditional painting is transformed into physical matter.

The title of the exhibition, Ultramarine Depot, refers to the installation, an important part of which is deep blue velvet, a textile material that creates a striking contrast to the hardness and austerity of steel. This soft, visually absorbing element acts as both a background and a frame, but at the same time it transforms the gallery space into a contemplative depot, a place for holding not only objects but also focused attention.
