Jakub’s artwork explores a number of mediums including; painting, installations, video-art, design and architectonic realizations. His name became widespread amongst the Czech people after he designed the prestigious movie award, Czech Lion.

Continual themes that run throughout Jakub Švéda’s artwork are technology, light and organisms. Although he embraces many different elements, Jakubs work always returns back to the notion of technics. In his paintings, drawings and videos we see movement among organic materials, which creates the feeling of a living organism. The driving force within the work is that nature is technically perfect in its simplicity and beauty. Jakub uses paintings and collages to express this by binding colourful stickers together to create playful, abstract patterns that still hold a sense of order.
